Building Calculator FAQs
These are the most common questions people ask when using our building/construction calculator for Lordrush. Usually these questions center around use of the tool itself, building prerequisites, build priorities, and other related Lordrush Building questions.
Is it worth rushing my Town Center to level 30?
Town Center 30 is a major milestone that allows Truegold buildings (assuming your Empire has unlocked the Age of Truegold), new troop capabilities, and the beginning of the end-game. Getting there faster directly accelerates everything else in your account. That said, “rushing” your Town Center means neglecting other non-prerequisite buildings, which can bottleneck resource production, troop training speed and capacity, rally and march size, research unlocked, etc. This is rarely a viable strategy unless you intend to be spending in game to make up for the shortfall.
For most players, a steady and intentional progression through Town Center levels that has room for critical non-prerequisite buildings (like resource buildings, Research Academy, and Command Center) is a happy medium. Also using construction speed buffs at the right moment and temporary construction buffs like the Double Time Decree to compress the timeline help accelerate your journey.
How do I accurately calculate my construction time?
To get an accurate construction time from the Building Calculator, you need to enter your total construction speed buff correctly. Add up all your additive sources: king buff, Porter's construction skill, alliance research, island buildings, profile frames, and any other passive bonuses visible in your Bonus Window. Enter that combined total into the calculator. Then account for Double Time edict separately if it'll be active, it's a multiplicative reduction in construction speed on top of your additive construction bonuses, not part of it. Getting these two inputs right is the difference between an accurate estimate and one that's off by days.
Do outpost building bonuses stack with my other construction buffs?
Yes, outpost growth bonuses like construction speed and research speed are additive and stack with all your other bonuses. You can confirm this by doing the math in your Bonus Overview panel in game vs the individual sources.
Please note that you can receive two separate bonuses for e.g. a level 1 and a level 3 Alliance Outpost of the same type, but you will not gain double bonuses from e.g. two lvl 1 Alliance Outposts of the same type. Also, alliance outpost buildings cannot be in a “vulnerable” state to receive the buff, even if it still shows up as claimed by your alliance.
In short, your Alliance Outpost construction bonus goes directly into the same additive pool as your Porter skill, alliance research, and other additive bonuses (assuming the Alliance Outpost is active). Enter it all as one total when using the calculator.
What building unlocks what, and is there a dependency I'll hit?
Almost every major feature in Lordrush has a Town Center level as a gating prerequisite. And not just your town buildings, but overall features like Hero Gear, Governor Gear, Governor Charms, your island, Truegold, Drill Camp Slots, etc.
We have all of the relevant building dependencies mapped out in our Lordrush Building Calculator to help you advance through the building pathways as efficient as possible to unlock your desired features. Whenever you add a desired building (such as a Town Center level), if you have the “Include prerequisites” option selected, you will see a total resource cost and build time for all prerequisite buildings as part of the result. You can also indicate current building level for each to improve the precision of the result. This will help you make sure you have no surprises and know exactly how many resources and speedups you need for your desired building outcome.
How should I prioritize buildings if I only have one construction slot?
With one construction slot (the free-to-play default), Town Center upgrades should be your primary queue item since they unlock everything else. Fill the secondary queue (when you get it) with resource buildings, prerequisites for the Town Center (like Embassy and Troop Buildings) and any other critical buildings (like the Research Academy). If you only have one slot, you need to be ruthless in your prioritization and understand the immediate value of what you are about to build and how it increases your account tempo. Researching construction speed buffs (Tooling Up research) also pays dividends here since every percentage point of speed reduction compounds across the entire future build queue.
