Her priority expedition skill, Rally Flag, provides a 40% chance to reduce damage taken by 50%, which is a solid defensive utility for rallies in theory. However, because this is a percentage-based chance skill, it does not stack if multiple alliance members send Isabelle as a joiner, making her strategically inferior to health-stacking heroes like Flint for coordinated defensive garrisons. Where Isabelle truly shines is as an early game rally leader, utilizing three combat skills, including Hero’s Domain (a 50% chance for 50% extra damage) and Youthful Rage (a massive 25% lethality bonus) to maximize damage output. While her exclusive gear provides a defensive lethality bonus which is multiplicative, most low-spending players should be careful not to over-invest in her widgets as they likely won't be leading garrison defense anyway. She remains viable for a while due to her ease of building to full strength compared to other mythic heroes and their slow acquisition rate of hero shards. For Conquest and Arena mode, Isabelle is a premier damage dealer and crowd control specialist who remains a staple in top-tier formations through the first generation of hero releases. This, coupled with her ease of building for free-to-play players makes her a "must-build" hero for everyone. Her signature ability, Gallant Throw, delivers significant area-of-effect (AoE) damage across the battlefield and includes a crowd control component that can effectively disrupt enemy formations. She further contributes steady pressure through Brave the Storm, which is not a passive buff but rather a specialized auto-attack with a built-in damage boost and its own unique cooldown. To maximize her effectiveness, Isabelle is best positioned where she can avoid becoming the primary target of the enemy’s damage focus so she can trigger her attacks in peace. If you already have another hero on the back left slot, she will benefit from her third skill, Persistence, which increases her attack speed by 60% when her health is below 50%. Do not intentionally position her to take damage for this, since her signature AoE is where most of her impact will come from, and it is not worth the risk of losing her early in the match.
