Valky: Infantry Hero Guide

For a few brief days, Valky was a symbol of wealth and power. Then came Sebastian.

- Comes with permenant global bonus to attack and defense based on star level
- #2 Bear Hunt infantry rally lead across all generations (behind Sebastian)
- Cheaper Sebastian alternative for spenders OK with earlier drop-off
- Part of all top arena teams in Gen 1, but falls off quicker than Sebastian
- Early-gen frontline tank; stun can skip enemy ultimates
Strat Game Sloth Strategic Summary
In expedition mode, Valky provides a unique specialized account-wide bonus to global attack and defense, simply for increasing her star levels. This helps spending Lordrush players ensuring her value persists even after she is cycled out of active marches. As a rally leader, Valky excels by bringing 3 combat skills compared to Bane's 2 combat skills. She contributes a massive 25% attack and lethality buff through the skills Echoes of Valhalla and Nature’s Balance, respectively. However, her first position skill, Oath of Guardian, is a percentage-based chance to reduce damage taken, which means it does not stack if multiple joiners send her (or others with similarly coded abilities) to a rally. Consequently, she is a suboptimal choice for rally joining compared to stat-stacking heroes like Flint (25% health bonus). While she is a powerhouse rally lead in the first hero generation, high-spending players will eventually find her outclassed in raw stats and utility by Sebastian (and the second generation infantry hero). This means she has a limited window to provide a return on value to spenders who chose to build her. Perhaps the most sustainable long-term advantage she can provide (besides her global bonus) is that she is the only other infantry hero besides Sebastian with a damage-dealing offensive widget (multiplicative bonus). So players who do not intend to max out Sebastian can still use Valky in Bear Hunt rally leading to similar effect for generations to come, if they can be comfortable with her having only 2 offensive abilities compared to Sebastian's 3 offensive skills. For Conquest and Arena mode, Valky is a top-tier starting infantry hero who defines the early-game "whale" meta through elite crowd control and survivability. Her signature ability, Antler Assault, is the premier tactical move at launch, delivering area-of-effect (AoE) damage coupled with a knockback and stun that physically disrupts the enemy front line and protects your backline damage dealers. It also seems to annoyingly coincide with the timing that other heroes are about to use their ultimate abilities, which may cause them to fail entirely. With base health and attack stats significantly higher than any purple rarity hero, a well-built Valky acts as a formidable "meat shield" and damage-dealing hybrid, especially once her widget unlocks Valiant Fury for a 30% damage boost. To maximize her impact, she should be positioned in the front row alongside other tanks like Bane to capitalize on her disruptive stuns. Especially try to position her across from an opposing enemy whose signature move you hope to disrupt. Despite her early dominance, she is typically one of the first orange heroes to be replaced as players transition into later generation heroes where stat creep (especially on defense) and more specialized tanking kits make her hybrid design less effective.
