The Monument: Your Empire’s Journey, and the Rewards Along the Way

The Monument is a major thing in early-game Lordrush, and it is easy to misread. It looks like a ladder you climb: a vertical list of 25 milestones, each one seemingly unlocking the next stage of the game. It is not that. The Monument is a record of your Empire’s journey. Your Empire ages on a fixed schedule, from its opening days all the way to the Age of Truegold, and the big features (Bear Hunt, Sanctuaries, Fortresses, the King’s Castle, and finally Truegold) arrive on that schedule on their own. The Monument sits alongside that journey and marks each moment, handing out a reward whenever your Empire, your alliance, or you personally hit the target it sets.

The important thing to understand up front is the opposite of what the screen suggests: the milestones do not unlock the game. Your Empire’s age does.

Just need the essentials? The Monument event page lists all 25 milestones and their rewards at a glance.

What the Monument actually is

Open the Monument (the building that "records historical moments") and you see a list of 25 milestones, top to bottom. Each has a target, a reward, and a window of time, and some carry a countdown.

Here is how it really works:

  • The next feature opens because your Empire has reached the age for it, not because anyone cleared the milestone above it. Bear Hunt, the Ruins and Sanctuaries, the Plains, each Terror tier, Fortresses, the Fertile Land, the King’s Castle and the Age of Truegold all arrive on the Empire’s timeline whether or not the matching milestone target is met.
  • Hitting a milestone’s target inside its window grants that milestone’s reward to whoever it is scoped to: every player in the Empire, the relevant alliance, or you.
  • Missing the target costs you only that reward. The game still moves on, the next feature still opens on time, and the next milestone still goes active.

So the Monument is best read as your Empire’s calendar with reward checkpoints, not a tech tree. You are never blocked, and you are never grinding to open anything. You are only deciding which of the reward checkpoints along the way you receive.

The monument lists

The Monument lists your Empire’s 25 milestones top to bottom. The order is the order they go active in, not a set of locks you have to pick.

Who each reward is for

Every milestone is scoped to one of three groups, and that tells you whether it is yours to chase or a shared effort.

  • Individual (two of them). The first milestone, Final Hope, is yours alone: reach Town Center Lv. 7 in the opening days. The final milestone, Road to Recovery, is also individual. It rewards the first 20 Lords in the whole Empire to reach Town Center Lv. 30, and you can push for it whenever you like, even before the milestone goes active. These two are the only rewards that come down to your own account.
  • Alliance. The conquest and Terror-hunting milestones. Your alliance hits the target together, usually against a countdown: hold a Sanctuary, hold a Fortress, hold the King’s Castle, or clear a Terror quota.
  • Empire-wide. Most of the rest. They tally every Lord’s progress together (Lords at Town Center 7, 15 and 24; beasts hunted; troops and heroes leveled; alliances grown). You add your slice, and the server as a whole crosses the line. These are almost impossible to fail in an active Empire, which tends to be most Empires near their launch.

The journey, moment by moment

As the Empire ages, the map opens up in a set order, and six of these moments are the exact server-wide events the Empire Timeline tracks. The Timeline tells you when; the Monument marks the same moments and pays a reward for taking part.

  • Bear Hunt and the first Terrors arrive early, around the time the Empire fills out Town Center 7. This is where daily beast and Terror hunting begins.
  • The Ruins open and every Sanctuary becomes contestable (the First Sanctuary Competition). This is the same fight the Sanctuary Battle event is built around, so this effectively is a double dip for rewards.
  • The Plains open, and later the Fertile Land, expanding where Lords can go.
  • Terror tiers escalate in the background: Lv. 1-2 first, then Lv. 3, Lv. 4, Lv. 5, and finally Lv. 6 as the Empire matures. Each harder tier is more rewarding to hunt.
  • Fortresses become contestable (the First Fortress Competition), then the King’s Castle at the center (the First Castle Competition), whose holder crowns the King of the Empire.
  • The Age of Truegold tips the server into its endgame, and buildings can push past Lv. 30 into Truegold levels.

None of these needs unlocking by the community. They are coming regardless. The Monument milestones around them are simply the reward for being active while they happen.

The finish line: Town Center 30

The last milestone rewards the first 20 Lords in the Empire to reach Town Center Lv. 30, not everyone who gets there. This is an extremely hard feat to accomplish and will likely require meaningful spending in Lordrush.

At the same time, the reward isn’t that amazing, given the difficulty. 60 Truegold will get you off to a great start, but it is a negligible fraction of what players will eventually earn and consume as they advance their buildings through Truegold levels. So unless you are after the bragging rights of having your character be memorialized in the Empire’s record as one of the top 20 players at that time, then this one really isn’t worth stressing over.

Road to recovery

Road to Recovery: the first 20 to Town Center 30 take the finale reward as the Age of Truegold arrives.

How to help the process

Since you cannot unlock anything and you are never blocked, helping the Monument process just means playing well and showing up for the checkpoints.

  • Keep your Town Center moving. Several milestones tally Lords at Lv. 7, 15, 24 and 30, so your own upgrades are progress, and being early to Lv. 30 puts you in the running for the top-20 finale.
  • Hunt beasts and Terrors daily. These are some of the biggest bars, and Terror hunts are an alliance effort, so join rallies when they go out.
  • Grow the alliance. Milestones reward alliances reaching Lv. 5, 55 members and 70 members. All of these are only possible for alliance leaders if their members are active.
  • Show up for the timed conquests. Holding a Sanctuary, Fortress or the King’s Castle before a countdown ends requires players working together in a coordinated fashion.

The rewards

They climb as the Empire ages. Early milestones pay Gems in 100-gem batches plus a Gold Key and skill books; later ones pay larger 1,000-gem batches, higher-rarity skill books (Rare, then Epic, then Mythic), General Speedups, and finally Truegold at the very end. None of it is huge per milestone, but it is free progress that arrives as your Empire grows, so there is little reason to leave it on the table.

The bottom line

Treat the Monument as your Empire’s story as it ages, not a checklist to grind. The features are coming on their own schedule; the milestones are optional bonus rewards laid along the path. Do the everyday things well, keep your own account moving, hunt with your alliance, and keep the alliance healthy, and the rewards land in your lap as the Empire makes its way to the Age of Truegold. Help your alliance win the PvP objectives as best as it can, but don’t stress since you can realistically only influence it in a small manner. The only reward that is truly yours to win or lose is the last: being one of the first 20 to Town Center 30.
